In short. The Pocket Beat Maker app does not collect, transmit or share personal information. It has no accounts, no advertising or analytics code, and no internet permission. Your projects stay on your device. Some data is handled by Android and Google Play outside the app, as explained below.
1. Introduction and scope
This policy covers the Pocket Beat Maker Android application (application ID com.pocketbeat.maker) and, in the final section, this website. It describes what the app does with information, based on a review of the app’s manifest, dependencies and source code.
2. Who we are
Publisher identity not yet configured. This must be completed before publication.
Privacy contact: Contact address not yet published. This must be configured before launch.
3. Information collected directly by the app
The app does not send any information to the developer or to any server. The only information it handles is what you create or choose to do inside it:
- Projects (patterns, arrangement, kit choices, mixer and effect settings, export settings) saved as files in the app’s private storage on your device.
- Settings such as default tempo and default export options, saved on your device.
- Exported audio that you save to a location you choose.
Project and settings data can include a project name you type. It is never read or transmitted by the developer.
4. Information we do not collect
The app does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, microphone audio, advertising identifier, device identifiers, usage analytics or crash reports. It has no way to do so: it requests no permissions and contains no code for these purposes. The app does not record from the microphone and does not import audio files.
5. Account and authentication practices
There are no accounts, logins or user profiles.
6. Analytics and advertising SDKs
The app contains no analytics, advertising, attribution or tracking SDKs. Its libraries are Google’s Oboe (low-latency audio), AndroidX (Activity, Lifecycle, DataStore, DocumentFile, Jetpack Compose, Material 3) and the Kotlin/kotlinx libraries. None of them are used by the app to transmit data.
7. Crash reporting and diagnostics
The app includes no crash-reporting service. The Settings screen has a local diagnostics panel (audio buffer sizes, voice counts) that is shown only on your device and is never sent anywhere. If you install the app from Google Play, Google and Android may collect crash and performance data under their own settings and policies (for example, if you opt in to sharing usage and diagnostics). That is outside the app’s control; see Google’s Privacy Policy.
8. App permissions
The app requests no Android permissions: no internet, storage, microphone, location or contacts access.
9. Local files, projects, samples and exported audio
Projects are stored in the app’s private storage and are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. The 80 sounds are bundled with the app and are not downloaded. Exported WAV files are saved where you choose and are yours to manage; deleting a project does not delete files you already exported.
Android device backup
The app allows Android’s backup feature to include the project files (projects/ folder). If you have Google backup enabled on your device, Android may copy those project files to your Google account’s backup storage, and may transfer them to a new device. This is performed by Android and Google, not by the developer, and the developer cannot access it. You can control it in your device’s system settings. App settings and exported audio are not included in the app’s backup rules.
10. File access and the Storage Access Framework
When you export, the app uses Android’s system file picker (Storage Access Framework). You choose the folder and file name, and the app can write only to the location you select. It does not scan or read your other files.
11. Network communications
The app has no internet permission and does not make network requests. Its core functions work offline. Downloading and updating the app is done by Google Play.
12. Third-party services
The app itself uses none. Google Play (distribution, purchase, updates) and Android (backup, system file picker) are third-party services governed by Google’s terms and policies. If you export to a cloud storage provider through the system picker, that provider’s own policy applies to the exported file.
13. Data sharing and disclosure
We do not receive your data through the app, so we have nothing to sell, share or disclose. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising.
14. Data retention and deletion
Your data lives on your device. To delete it, remove projects inside the app, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app. Backup copies kept by Google can be managed in your Google account and device backup settings.
15. Security
Project data stays in the app’s private storage, which Android protects from other apps. Projects are saved with an atomic write to reduce the risk of corruption. No system is perfectly secure, and device security (screen lock, updates) matters too.
16. Children’s privacy
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
17. International users
Because the app sends no personal data to the developer, no cross-border transfer of personal data takes place through the app. Google may process Play and backup data in other countries under its own terms.
18. EEA and UK users
Since the developer does not collect personal data through the app, there is generally no personal data held by us to access, correct, delete or port. You may still contact us with any privacy question, and you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. This policy does not name a data protection officer or EU/UK representative; none has been appointed.
19. California residents
We do not collect, sell or share personal information through the app, as those terms are used in California privacy law.
20. Other regions
The same facts apply everywhere: no personal data is collected by the developer through the app. If your local law gives you additional rights, contact us at the address below.
21. Policy updates
If the app’s data practices change (for example, a future version adds a network feature), this policy will be updated before that version is released and the “Last updated” date will change.
22. Contact
Privacy questions: Contact address not yet published. This must be configured before launch.
Website privacy
This website uses no analytics, advertising, marketing pixels, session replay or tracking. It sets no cookies of its own and does not use local storage. Fonts and images are served from the same domain as the pages. As with any website, the hosting provider receives your IP address and request details in server logs; which provider is used is determined at deployment. If analytics or other tracking is ever added, this section and any required consent controls will be updated first. Related: Terms of Use, Refunds & Purchases.
